Our History
Faith In Action Deliverance Ministries was founded by our Pastor/Teacher, Dr. Bettie M. Ferguson, in 1992 under the name South Dade Youth Awareness Center, Inc. In the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew, the center initially provided education, counseling, literacy, and prevention services for youth and families in the South Dade areas of Miami-Dade County — from South Miami to Homestead.
Later reincorporated as Faith In Action Deliverance Ministries & Education Center, Inc., the ministry received IRS designation as a religious 501(c)(3) corporation. In 2000, Dr. Ferguson was ordained and began her ministry, which included a career as a Substance Abuse Counselor to men, women, and juveniles in the custody of the Department of Corrections. In 2002 she furthered her career with the department as Staff Chaplain, retiring from the DOC in 2015.

Dr. Bettie M. Ferguson
Dr. Bettie M. Ferguson is a dedicated woman of God serving as Senior Pastor/Teacher of Faith In Action Deliverance Ministries and Education Center, Inc. With decades of experience in ministry, counseling, and chaplaincy, she continues to lead the ministry with passion, wisdom, and a heart for people.
